The 18th Amendment

Could this maneuver possibly have anything to do with rallying the base in a troubling election cycle?

In any event, don't forget the 21st Amendment. What goes around, comes around.

I watched Bush's press conference today and he is so not into this. I've never seen anybody who looked so much ike he was just going through the motions.

Even W realizes that this is just a pander.

Which makes it all the worse, I think. First, I don't appreciate using the Constitution as a casual, screw-ball, short-term smoke screen. Second, wouldn't those who actually think this is a good idea be upset by the blatant pandering? A commenter on NPR this afternoon said that there was no political downside, but I see no real upside either, unless the fanatics are so fanatic that they don't see this for what it is.
